Formula Used

Slope percent
Slope(%) = (ΔElevation / Length) × 100
Length is horizontal distance. ΔElevation is end − start.
Angle and ratio
Angle(°) = arctan(ΔElevation / Length) × 180/π
Ratio = 1 : (Length / |ΔElevation|)
If ΔElevation is zero, the runway is flat.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Select a method matching your available field data.
  2. Choose units, then enter runway length and elevations.
  3. Add a maximum slope to perform a quick limit check.
  4. Click Calculate to view results above the form.
  5. Use CSV or PDF exports to share the report.
