Calculator Inputs
Formula Used
Slope percent
Slope(%) = (ΔElevation / Length) × 100
Length is horizontal distance. ΔElevation is end − start.
Angle and ratio
Angle(°) = arctan(ΔElevation / Length) × 180/π
Ratio = 1 : (Length / |ΔElevation|)
If ΔElevation is zero, the runway is flat.
