Wardrobe Panel Calculator

Plan panels for wardrobes with fast, clear measurements. Compare sheet sizes, waste, and edging rates. Export results and share them with your installer easily.

Inputs
Tip: Keep units consistent; results are computed in millimeters.
Construction Estimator

We convert everything to mm for calculations.
Overall outside width.
Overall outside height.
Overall outside depth.
Common values: 16-19 mm.
Used to estimate bay width and partitions.
Total shelves = shelves x sections.
Adds two horizontal panels.
Adds (sections - 1) panels.
Depth is reduced by back thickness.
Used to adjust usable depth.
Door panels include full perimeter edging.
Hinged or sliding door panels.
Sliding adds an overlap allowance.
Used only for sliding doors.
Often equals wardrobe height.
Accounts for offcuts and mistakes.

Example: 2440 mm.
Example: 1220 mm.
Leave 0 if you only want quantities.
Applies mainly to shelves.
Used for estimated edging cost.
Extra for joins and trimming.

Example Data Table
This sample shows typical values and the kind of output you will get.
Scenario Size (W x H x D) Sections Shelves/Section Waste Estimated Sheets*
Standard Bedroom Wardrobe 1800 x 2400 x 600 mm 3 4 10% ~4-6
Compact Two-Bay Wardrobe 1200 x 2100 x 550 mm 2 3 12% ~3-4
Large Four-Bay Wardrobe 2400 x 2700 x 650 mm 4 5 15% ~7-10
*Sheet count depends on actual cut optimization and grain direction.
Formula Used
Panel Area
For each panel type:
Area (m2) = Qty x (Length_mm x Width_mm) / 1,000,000
Waste Allowance
Area_with_waste = Net_area x (1 + Waste% / 100)
Use 8-15% for typical site work.
Estimated Sheets Needed
Sheet_area = (SheetLen_mm x SheetWid_mm) / 1,000,000
Sheets = ceil(Area_with_waste / Sheet_area)
Edge Banding
We estimate exposed edges per panel, then apply edging waste:
Edging_m = NetEdge_m x (1 + EdgingWaste% / 100)
Notes: Internal bay width is estimated by subtracting side and partition thicknesses, then dividing by sections.
How to Use This Calculator
  1. Select your units, then enter the wardrobe width, height, and depth.
  2. Set panel thickness, number of sections, and shelves per section.
  3. Choose optional parts such as back panel and doors.
  4. Enter sheet size, costs, and waste allowances for realistic totals.
  5. Press Calculate Panels to view the results above the form.
  6. Use the download buttons to export CSV or PDF for your site team.
Built for estimating; verify final cut sizes before fabrication.
