Formula Used

Subtotal = Unit Price × Quantity

Discount Amount = Subtotal × Discount Rate

After Discount = Subtotal − Discount Amount

Coupon Applied = Smaller of Coupon or After Discount

Taxable Amount = After Discount − Coupon Applied

Tax Amount = Taxable Amount × Tax Rate

Final Total = Taxable Amount + Tax Amount + Shipping Cost

Gross Profit = Taxable Amount − Cost of Goods

FAQs

1. What does this calculator estimate?

It estimates subtotal, discount value, coupon effect, taxable amount, shipping, final payable total, gross profit, gross margin, and effective unit price for bulk ecommerce orders.

2. Which discount tier gets applied?

The calculator uses the highest qualifying tier based on the order quantity. It does not stack multiple tier percentages together.

3. Can I include coupons with bulk discounts?

Yes. The calculator subtracts the coupon after the tier discount. It also prevents the coupon from reducing the discounted amount below zero.

4. Why is gross margin useful here?

Gross margin helps you test whether discounted bulk pricing still protects profitability. It is useful during wholesale negotiations and large cart promotions.

5. Is tax calculated before or after coupons?

Here, tax is calculated on the discounted amount after the coupon. This matches many common pricing workflows, but local tax rules may differ.

6. Does shipping affect profit analysis?

Yes. Shipping is included in the final total. Profit in this version compares taxable revenue against product cost, helping you review pricing strength quickly.

7. What does the chart show?

The chart plots total payable across different quantities using your entered discount tiers, coupon, shipping, and tax values.

8. When should I use this calculator?

Use it before publishing wholesale offers, quantity-break pricing, trade account rates, or promotion rules for large ecommerce orders.
