Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does this calculator measure?

It calculates net score, percentage, pass status, letter grade, accuracy, completion, and points still needed to pass. It also supports weighted marks, penalties, and bonus points.

2) Can I use this for negative marking exams?

Yes. Enter the penalty value in the negative-points field. The calculator subtracts those penalty points from earned marks before computing the final percentage.

3) What happens if I leave unanswered questions blank?

The calculator automatically derives unanswered questions from total questions minus correct and incorrect answers. This helps reduce manual entry mistakes during quick score checks.

4) Can the percentage go above 100%?

Yes, extra credit can raise the raw score above the regular maximum. That may produce a percentage over 100 when bonus points are included in the final score.

5) How is the letter grade assigned?

The calculator compares the final percentage with your custom A, B, C, and D thresholds. Anything below the D cutoff is treated as grade F.

6) Is this calculator useful for teachers?

Yes. Teachers can test grading rules, compare weighted schemes, evaluate pass thresholds, and export a clean result summary for lesson planning or student review.

7) What is the difference between accuracy and completion?

Accuracy looks only at attempted questions and shows how many were correct. Completion shows how much of the full test was actually attempted.

8) Why would my result show an error?

Errors appear when counts do not add up, grade cutoffs are not descending, or invalid numbers are entered. This prevents misleading score results.
