Example Data Table
This sample shows how different planning choices affect total candy.
| Scenario | Current Candy | Catches | Transfers | Rare Candy | Goal Cost | Likely Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small evolution plan | 45 | 15 | 10 | 0 | 100 | Needs more candy |
| Event farming plan | 80 | 35 | 20 | 10 | 150 | Goal likely covered |
| Power-up and second move | 130 | 40 | 25 | 25 | 225 | Close to target |
Formula Used
Candy per catch = base catch candy × berry multiplier × event multiplier + mega bonus
Catch candy = planned catches × candy per catch
Buddy candy = floor(planned walking distance ÷ buddy distance per candy)
Total regular candy = current + catch + transfer + trade + buddy + raid/research + rare candy - candy converted to XL
Required regular candy = evolution cost + power-up cost + second move cost + purification cost + desired reserve
Missing candy = max(0, required candy - available candy)
Extra walking distance = missing candy × buddy distance per candy
XL candy = current XL + rare XL + catch XL + transfer XL + floor(regular candy converted ÷ 100)
How To Use This Calculator
First, enter the Pokémon name and your current candy totals. Then add your planned catches, transfers, trades, and walking distance. Choose the correct candy multiplier for berries and events. Plan Pokémon GO Candy With Better Control
Why candy planning matters
Candy is one of the most important resources in Pokémon GO. It controls evolution, power-ups, second charged moves, purification, and long-term team growth. A trainer may catch many Pokémon, yet still miss the exact amount needed for a raid attacker or league build. This calculator helps you see that gap before you spend rare candy or transfer valuable Pokémon.
Build a complete candy estimate
The tool combines several candy sources into one clear total. It counts current candy, expected catches, transfer rewards, trade rewards, buddy walking, research rewards, raid rewards, and rare candy. It also subtracts candy converted into XL candy. This gives a more realistic estimate than a simple evolution counter. You can test farming routes, event bonuses, Pinap use, and buddy distance in one place.
Understand your upgrade target
A good plan needs both income and cost. Enter your evolution cost, power-up cost, second move cost, purification cost, and desired reserve. The calculator then compares available candy with required candy. It shows whether your goal is covered, how much candy is missing, or how much will remain after spending. This helps avoid using rare candy too early.
Use walking and catching estimates
Missing candy is easier to understand when converted into action. The calculator estimates extra catches needed based on your candy per catch. It also estimates buddy walking distance based on the distance needed for one candy. These two numbers are useful during Community Days, spotlight hours, hatch events, or raid preparation.
Track XL candy separately
XL candy has its own section because it is used for higher-level upgrades. You can add current XL candy, expected XL from catches, transfer XL, rare XL, and converted candy. The calculator compares the total with your XL target. This makes it easier to plan serious investments without confusing regular candy and XL candy.
FAQs
1. What does this candy calculator do?
It estimates available candy, missing candy, extra catches, buddy walking distance, regular candy surplus, and XL candy gaps for a planned Pokémon GO upgrade.
2. Can I use it for evolutions?
Yes. Enter the evolution candy cost in the evolution field. Add any power-up or second move costs if your plan includes more than evolving.
3. How should I enter Pinap candy?
Select the 2x berry multiplier when you expect to use Pinap or Silver Pinap berries on your planned catches.
4. What is mega bonus candy?
Use this field for extra candy per catch from active bonuses. Enter zero when no extra catch candy bonus applies.
5. How is buddy candy calculated?
The calculator divides planned walking distance by the buddy distance needed for one candy. It rounds down to complete candy only.
6. Does the tool calculate XL candy?
Yes. It adds current XL, rare XL, expected catch XL, transfer XL, and XL gained from converting regular candy.
7. Why is converted candy subtracted?
Regular candy converted into XL candy is no longer available for normal evolution, power-up, purification, or second move costs.
8. Can I download my result?
Yes. After calculation, use the CSV or PDF button to save the result for later planning or comparison.
