Formula Used

Pattern Score estimates how closely the entered symptoms match common pregnancy-related symptom patterns.

Pattern Score = [Σ(symptom intensity × weight) ÷ Σ(max symptom × weight)] × 100

Alert Score adds points for warning signs such as heavy bleeding, severe pain, fluid leakage, fever, raised blood pressure, dehydration, or reduced fetal movement.

Alert Score = min(100, Σ red-flag points)

Combined Review blends both measures so common symptoms do not hide urgent warning signs.

Combined Review = (Pattern Score × 0.65) + (Alert Score × 0.35)

The tool is intentionally conservative. A higher alert score can override a routine symptom pattern.

FAQs

1. Does this calculator confirm pregnancy?

No. It only reviews symptom patterns and warning signs. Pregnancy confirmation requires a reliable test and, when needed, clinical follow-up.

2. What does the Pattern Score mean?

It shows how closely your entered symptoms align with common pregnancy-related patterns. A higher score does not replace a test or medical assessment.

3. What does the Alert Score mean?

It measures the urgency of warning signs such as heavy bleeding, severe pain, fever, high blood pressure, dehydration, or reduced fetal movement.

4. Why can a high Alert Score override other results?

Because emergency warning signs matter more than common symptoms. The tool is designed to prioritize safety when serious features are reported.

5. Can I use it after a positive test?

Yes. It can help organize symptoms and note red flags. It still cannot diagnose normal versus abnormal pregnancy progression.

6. When should I call a clinician the same day?

Do that for moderate bleeding, rising blood pressure, persistent vomiting, fever, strong dizziness, or symptoms that suddenly worsen.

7. When is urgent care more appropriate?

Urgent care is safer for heavy bleeding, severe pain, fluid leakage, fainting, breathing trouble, seizures, or reduced fetal movement after 24 weeks.

8. Why export the result as CSV or PDF?

Exports help you track symptom changes, keep a personal record, and share structured notes during a clinic or prenatal appointment.
