Convert dBc to dB Calculator

Translate spur levels relative to a carrier reference. Handle single values or batch lists quickly. Clear outputs help compare signals across measurements today accurately.

Calculator

Use the same reference you want in the output.
Negative values are common for spurs/noise.
Affects displayed dB values in the table.
If provided, the batch list overrides the single value. Separate by commas, spaces, or new lines.

Example Data Table

Carrier dBc Absolute level Power ratio
-10 dBm -30 dBc -40 dBm 0.001
0 dBW -50 dBc -50 dBW 1e-5
12 dB -6 dBc 6 dB 0.251
5 dBV -20 dBc -15 dBV 0.01
Examples assume the carrier reference and spur level share the same reference unit.

Formula Used

Absolute level is found by adding the relative offset to the carrier reference:

Lspur (in same unit) = Lcarrier + (dBc)

For ratio comparisons, dBc can be converted to linear form:

  • Power ratio = 10^(dBc / 10)
  • Amplitude ratio = 10^(dBc / 20)

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the carrier reference level in your chosen unit.
  2. Type one dBc offset, or paste a batch list of offsets.
  3. Select the rounding precision you prefer.
  4. Press Convert to show results above the form.
  5. Use Download CSV or Download PDF to save outputs.
