Formula Used

Net Area = Length × Width − Openings.

Average Thickness = Uniform thickness, or (Start + End)/2 for wedge.

Wet Volume = Σ(Net Area × Thickness).

Loose Dry Volume = Wet Volume × Dry Volume Factor.

For ratio C:S, Total Parts = C + S.

Cement Volume = Loose Dry Volume × (C / Total Parts); Sand Volume = Loose Dry Volume × (S / Total Parts).

Cement Mass = Cement Volume × Cement Density; Sand Mass = Sand Volume × Sand Density.

Water (liters) ≈ Cement Mass × w/c ratio. Screed Mass ≈ Wet Volume × Screed Density.

Coverage Method: Bag Volume = Coverage Area × Thickness. Bags = Wet Volume / Bag Volume.

Apply Wastage: multiply required volumes by (1 + Wastage%).

How to Use
  1. Choose your units and method (volume mix or coverage-based).
  2. Add segments. Use “Wedge?” for sloped areas; enter start/end thickness.
  3. Set wastage, densities, mix ratio, and bag size or coverage.
  4. Click Calculate to see totals, bags, and estimated costs.
  5. Use Download CSV or Download PDF to export.
FAQs

Typical loose dry factor ranges 1.30–1.54. This calculator defaults to 1.33 for screed; adjust if your materials are fluffier or coarser.

Enable “Wedge?” on a segment and enter start and end thickness. The calculator uses the average thickness to compute volume accurately.

Yes. Switch Method to Coverage. Enter area covered per bag at a reference thickness, plus bag weight and cost to compute required bags and totals.

Defaults: cement 1440 kg/m³, sand 1600 kg/m³, wet screed 2000 kg/m³. You can override to match local materials or specifications.

Water is approximated as w/c × cement mass (liters). Actual site water depends on moisture in sand, admixtures, and performance requirements.
