  1. Insulated Outside Diameter (per segment):
    Dins = Dod + 2 × t
    where Dod is bare outside diameter and t is insulation thickness.
  2. Fittings Equivalent Length (per type with overrides):
    Lfit,i = counti × factori × Dbasis,i
    summed across all fitting types. Dbasis,i can be the length-weighted average, a specific segment OD/Insulated OD, or a custom OD.
  3. Straight Length:
    Lstraight = Σ ( segment length )
  4. Total Before Waste:
    Lpre = Lstraight + Σ Lfit,i
  5. Waste:
    Lwaste = Lpre × (waste% ÷ 100)
  6. Total Insulation Length:
    Ltotal = Lpre + Lwaste
