Scaffolding Tubes & Boards Calculator

Estimate tubes, ledgers, transoms, and boards for any configuration in minutes flat. Handle bay spacing, lift heights, platform widths, and load classes with ease. Supports metric and imperial, staggered joints, overhang rules, and waste allowances too. Export CSV or PDF and share instantly today.

Brand Presets

Optional
Presets set tube mass-per-length, board size/density, and typical stock lengths for cutting plans.

Project Inputs

White theme Advanced mode

Lengths shown as meters. Board dimensions auto-switch.

Typical 48.3×4.0≈4.47, 48.3×3.2≈3.56
Comma-separated. Uses current units.
Planner subtracts two trims and kerf between cuts.
Counts assume independent tied scaffolding with two longitudinal lines of standards.

Formulas Used

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Select units and enter bay length, bays, lifts, and lift height.
  2. Choose boarding mode: simple count or per-lift selection.
  3. Set transom span, transoms per bay per lift, boards across, and board sizes.
  4. Optional: apply a brand preset, then tweak values.
  5. Enter tube stock lengths, trims, and kerf for the cut planner.
  6. Select the cutting strategy: Greedy or Optimized per-bar.
  7. Press Calculate. Review counts, lengths, masses, and cut plans.
  8. Export summaries and cut lists via CSV or PDF for sharing.

FAQs

Independent tied scaffolding with two longitudinal lines of standards, simple ledger/transom framing, and uniform bays. Adjust transoms per bay if bracing or board supports vary.

Choose a primary unit system. The interface converts internally to SI for mass and volume, then reports lengths in your chosen units.

Mass depends on tube specification. Use 4.47 kg/m for 48.3×4.0, 3.56 kg/m for 48.3×3.2 as typical references, or override with supplier data.

Not all lifts are decked. Selecting per lift gives exact board counts and weights for phased work or partial access plans.

It minimizes the number of bars using the best-capacity stock, then chooses stock that minimizes waste on the remaining pieces. It outputs exact per-bar layouts with trims and kerfs applied.

Choose single-piece standards or segments per lift. Per-lift segmentation simplifies splicing at ledger levels and cut planning by using the lift height as the piece length.

Yes. Use the Cut Plan CSV export to download per-bar layouts when the optimized strategy is selected, or summary allocations under the greedy strategy.
