Formula Used
- Net Wall Area: Anet = L × H − Σ(openingi.w × openingi.h × counti).
- Brick Face Area (single wythe): Abrick = (Lb+Jperp) × (Hb+Jbed) (convert to meters).
- Bricks (raw): N = Anet / Abrick.
- Pattern Allowance: N' = N × (1 + p/100), where p is preset for cuts.
- Wastage: Nfinal = ceil( N' × (1 + W%/100) ).
- Courses (approx): C ≈ H / (Hb+Jbed).
- Bricks per Course (approx): Bc ≈ L / (Lb+Jperp).
- Wall Thickness: Derived → T = (orientation ? Wb : Lb) + Jthru; else T = custom.
- Wall Volume: Vwall = Anet × T.
- Brick Volume Total: Vbricks = Nfinal × (Lb × Wb × Hb).
- Mortar Volume: Vmortar = max( Vwall − Vbricks, 0 ).
- Total Weight: M = ρbrick × Vbricks + ρmortar × Vmortar.
- Costs: Brick Cost = Nfinal × unit price; Mortar Cost = Vmortar × price/m³; Total = sum.
How to Use
- Select your unit system, then enter wall length and height.
- Enter brick dimensions and joint thicknesses (see unit hints near fields).
- Choose wall thickness mode and derived orientation if applicable.
- Select a bond pattern preset; adjust wastage per project conditions.
- Add door/window openings with width, height, and counts.
- Optionally enable costs, set currency, and enter brick and mortar prices.
- Click Calculate, then export CSV or print to PDF as needed.
- Save your setup as a preset, export, or import later.
FAQs
It refers to a single wythe wall where thickness roughly equals one brick width plus the through-thickness joint, laid in stretcher bond.
It’s an engineering estimate using wall volume minus brick volume. Real projects vary with workmanship, bond pattern, and joint tooling.
Coverage per area is similar, but cut/offcut handling changes waste. Presets add small allowances for cuts typical to each pattern.
Yes. Choose Derived Orientation: Stretcher uses brick width; Header uses brick length for thickness.
