Formula Used
- Plate Quantity by Type = Sum of row quantities sharing the same selected plate type.
- Total Gangs = Σ( Row Quantity × Gangs-per-plate for selected type ).
- Total Screws = Σ( Row Quantity × Screws-per-plate setting ).
- Decorator Openings = Σ( Row Quantity × Rectangular openings ), optionally counting rectangular toggle/dimmer styles as “decorator”.
No electrical connectivity is modeled; this tool focuses on trim plate counts only.

FAQs
“Gang” is the number of device openings on a plate. A 2‑gang plate fits two device positions, like two toggles or one toggle plus one rectangular dimmer.
Duplex is the typical two‑oval receptacle opening. “Decorator” (Decora/GFCI) is a single rectangular opening used for GFCIs, smart switches, dimmers, keypads, and some USB/data modules.
Yes. Choose a combo type (e.g., Toggle + Duplex, Toggle + Decorator). Each combo counts openings appropriately and contributes to plate and gang totals.
