Formula Used

Each factor is scored from 0 to 10. A weighted average becomes a base score from 0 to 100. Freshness adds a penalty, and proof items add a bonus.

BaseScore = ( Σ(scoreᵢ × weightᵢ) / (10 × Σ(weightᵢ)) ) × 100
FreshnessPenalty = min(15, monthsSinceUpdate × 1.5)
ProofBonus = min(5, proofItems × 0.5)
FinalScore = clamp(BaseScore − FreshnessPenalty + ProofBonus, 0, 100)
Use role presets or custom weights to match your target role.

FAQs

1) What does the Profile Impact Score measure?
It estimates how convincing your profile looks to hiring teams, using completeness, relevance, proof, visibility, and consistency. It helps prioritize improvements that lift interview chances.
2) What score is considered “good”?
A score above 70 is usually strong. Between 40 and 69 is competitive but may need clearer proof. Below 40 suggests missing sections, weak alignment, or limited measurable results.
3) Should I use presets or custom weights?
Use presets when you want quick, role-aligned scoring. Use custom weights if a specific role demands extra focus, like portfolios for design or achievements for sales.
4) How do I score “Quantified Achievements”?
Give higher scores when your bullets include numbers: growth %, revenue, time saved, user counts, or defect reduction. If most bullets lack outcomes or metrics, score lower.
5) Why does freshness reduce the score?
Older profiles can look inactive or outdated. Even small updates help: recent projects, new tools, a refreshed summary, or a current headline.
6) What counts as proof items?
Portfolio links, case studies, code repos, certifications, talks, awards, published work, or strong testimonials. Proof items should show real work and your contribution.
7) Can I track progress over time?
Yes. Recalculate weekly after making changes, then download CSV or PDF. Compare your lowest scoring areas each time to ensure you are improving the right things.
8) Is this score a guarantee of interviews?
No. It is a planning tool, not a promise. Hiring also depends on timing, competition, location, and role fit. Still, stronger proof and alignment usually help.
